Selfie and flowers

September 1, 2018

Labor Day weekend here on the Pacific coast , northwest  Washington. It's been a long lovely summer.  I have stuffed mushrooms in the oven!
Just finished a watercolor portrait  of one of my two sons with art supplies from a close-out sale at Pacific Art and Office  supplies, the end of an era here on the peninsula. I hate to see it go.  But where there's a need a new shop will fill it.
My daughter is well. I turned 74 in August with a bouquet of roses from family. (photos attached) That's me these days.
Here's hoping the winter is mild and all is well.

Bird House, Cal's a Tenor, Street Artist, Floating World

July 2015 next week

As terrific wind and rain storms assail the country east of the Rocky mountains this end of June, the west is experiencing a heatwave which does drought stricken California no good.
As for the northern West Coast, we are just fine after a super mild spring that jump started everyone's garden!
Me, I'm doing laundry, which permits me to make an entry into my blog!  I've been keeping my hand in the game at PicsArt on line whom I highly recommend.  With two or 3 contests every week there is lots of opportunity to be competitive with a great group of artists (100,000,000 to be exact). Submitting fotos is hopeless unless you want to scroll through a thousand plus entries. But drawing contests are totally amusing.
I am gradually resuming water colors after the big move last year.  Plus I've a granddaughter who is a joy to our whole family!
I'm hoping the reader has not been hit with outrageous weather and that your July Forth will sally onward.  Regards, BMartin

November 2014

The year is drawing to a close.  It has been a tumultous one.  I turned seventy this year! Obviously my artwork has slowed profoundly. And moving from one address to another has both complicated and simplified endeavor.
Gardening was one of my great delights this year, wonderful Swiss Chard.  Bread baking is terribly satisfying.  But my art materials are buried in storage and under fatigue.
So there is much to look forward to in 2015.   From me to you, Perserverence Furthers!

Late July

Today being Monday, July 28, 2014, a good day to blog, I'm posting in regard to a couple of biz cards I designed for a Picsart contest.
You can see a sample of my orientation at barbara-martin-1029@picsart.com.

Otherwise: its getting windy at the beach, kiteflying weather. Lots of great yardsales may be an exaggeration. My cherry tomatoes are still quite green but the bush is huge. And I am settled into my new digs. Try to navigate around the fires, drought, tornados and old age! yours, bmartin
